A work in progress... if you are in my Sept. Class NO PEEKING!

These pages are for my class on the last Thursday of September. They are a work in progress. I ran out of Cranberry paper so the mat on the top right page will be bigger. I'm still tweeking some things but another consultant asked me to share an idea for patriotic pages and this is what I'm working on so I thought I'd go ahead and share and she can take the idea and run with it and make it her own. thes pages were my practice ones so they probably won't be used. I had to get better at stamping the stitching so it didn't look so messy and the blocks I was using were too big so I have a few ink lines on there. The other sets I'm working on as examples for my class are a lot cleaner looking but I ran out of paper and haven't been able to finish them until my order gets here on Wed.

I dyed paint to match the cranberry in the paper- I went a few shades lighter so it would coordinate but not be a perfect match. It has an irridescent sheen to it. I stamped in cranberry and outdoor denim with two different star stamps after it was dry. I love clear stamps!! You can see what you are doing and not be stamping blind so it lets you do fun stuff like this with less stress. The design that you see on the paper below is a set of stamps called Simple Stitches that has all kinds of designs of stitches that your sewing machine would make so you can get the look of stitching without the hassle of dragging out your machine and getting the tension settings set up properly.

I still have to ink the edges in blue and get the larger mat on. I'm making my pages for my July 2009 album (yes, I know!) but I had an idea sketched out already for this years pics. I came up with this idea and thought it would be fun for our class and I know my girls have July 4th pics to do so I thought they would have fun with it. I wanted to play with my new paint too!
